Google Music Manager: A frustrating way to download your music library

Google Music users, you can breathe a slight sigh of relief, but don’t get too excited. Google has finally enabled a way for you to retrieve the music you upload to its new music storage locker service. The announcement was made on the official Google+ page for Android and verified by a new help article on the Android Market Web site.

DoCoMo to ask for changes in Android -Nikkei

(Reuters) – NTT DoCoMo Inc will ask Google Inc to modify its Android operating system so that smartphones using it would put less pressure on networks, a move that could spark wider protests against the leading mobile software platform, the Nikkei reported. The leading Japanese mobile phone service provider identified an Android application, which enables free-of-charge voice communication, as a major cause behind a service disruption that occurred on Wednesday, the business daily said. Some Android applications send out control signals once every three to five minutes even when not in use.

Prem Watsa’s Fairfax more than doubles RIM stake

TORONTO (Reuters) – Fairfax Financial , the insurer and investment firm controlled by Prem Watsa, has more doubled its stake in Research in Motion to 5.12 percent, giving it a holding on par with longtime co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie. Watsa was appointed to the struggling BlackBerry maker’s board this week as part of a front office shakeup in which Balsillie and Lazaridis stepped down from their roles at the company’s helm.
